A child is a ‘child’
The issue of child labor has been a long-standing one, so long that its prevalence has also caused its normalization. However, this issue demands our attention and should not be overlooked. If child labor is not eliminated from a family, it gets carried over to the next generations as poverty continues. So, child labor increases the poverty rate of a family as well as the economy as it induces a cycle being carried over in generations. Moreover, the side-effects of strenuous child labor last beyond childhood years. The physical and mental hardships that are faced by child laborers can show serious health issues as adults. Due to the physical load on their young bodies, child laborers can face physical disabilities. Additionally, child laborers can also develop anxiety disorders, depression, and PTSD. These adverse effects demand the world to stand against child labor and take immediate strict actions to eliminate the issue.
