About

New One: Learning without Borders is a first-year foundation program that provides a small-class learning experience for intellectually curious and socially engaged students. In New One students acquire key academic skills by exploring, questioning and deepening their understanding of aspects of our daily life that can easily be taken for granted — the food we eat, the languages we speak, the technology we depend on, the art we produce, and the role science plays in our everyday lives. In New One students participate in conversations about what it means to be a responsible global citizen in the 21st century.

Since one of the goals of New One is to break the barriers between the university and the public, students present their work in a public fair at the end of each year. Beginning in 2020/21 our Knowledge Fair happens twice a year, at the end of each term. Since our courses are all online this year, our fair has also moved online and we hope you take the time to wander through our exhibits, all accessible from our homepage.
